Overview
Express Entry is Canada’s primary immigration system for skilled workers seeking permanent residency. Managed entirely online, it streamlines applications for three main programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Program. Candidates are ranked using a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) based on factors like age, education, work experience, and language proficiency. The highest-scoring candidates receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residency. In 2025
Express Entry has shifted to targeted, category-based draws, focusing on candidates with specific skills, occupations, or language abilities to address Canada’s labor market needs
