Overview

Family Sponsorship is a core part of Canada’s immigration system, allowing Canadian citizens and permanent residents to reunite with close family members by sponsoring them for permanent residence

Through this program, you can sponsor your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner, dependent children, parents, grandparents, and, in certain cases, other relatives. Once approved, your sponsored family members can live, work, and study in Canada as permanent residents, supporting family unity and integration into Canadian society

Why Choose Us for Family Sponsorship?

      • Comprehensive Eligibility Assessment: We evaluate your situation to ensure you and your family members meet all IRCC requirements, including income, relationship proof, and admissibility.

      • Up-to-date Guidance: We stay current with the latest policy changes, including the 2025 updates to the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) and Super Visa options.

      • Document Preparation & Review: Our team helps you gather and prepare all necessary forms and supporting documents, reducing the risk of delays or refusals.

      • Application Management: We handle submission, communication with IRCC, and follow-up on your application, keeping you informed at every stage.

      • Support for Complex Cases: We assist with special situations, such as the “last remaining relative” exception, and appeals if your application is refused

Family Sponsorship programs in Canada

1. Spouse, Partner, and Dependent Child Sponsorship
This program allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their spouse, common-law or conjugal partner, and dependent children (including adopted children) to become permanent residents of Canada. The goal is to help immediate families reunite and live together in Canada.

2. Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP)
Through the PGP, you can sponsor your parents and grandparents to immigrate to Canada as permanent residents. The program typically operates through a lottery system, where sponsors submit an interest to sponsor form and are randomly selected to apply. The PGP has annual intake limits and specific eligibility requirements.

3. Other Relatives Sponsorship
In certain special cases, you may be able to sponsor other relatives, such as orphaned siblings, nieces, nephews, or grandchildren under 18, or one other relative (regardless of age or relationship) if you have no other close family in Canada or abroad. This is known as the “last remaining relative” exception and is subject to strict criteria

Process in Detail:

  1. Eligibility Check:
          • You must be at least 18 years old, a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or registered under the Indian Act.

          • You must reside in Canada, or plan to return if sponsoring a spouse/partner/child from abroad.

          • You must not be ineligible due to reasons such as bankruptcy, criminality, or defaulting on previous sponsorships.

        1. Determine Who You Can Sponsor:

          • Spouse, common-law or conjugal partner

          • Dependent children (biological or adopted)

          • Parents and grandparents (through the PGP lottery system)

          • In limited cases, orphaned siblings, nieces, nephews, or “last remaining relative”.

        2. Prepare and Submit Applications:

          • Complete and submit both the sponsorship application and the permanent residence application together.

          • Include all required forms, relationship evidence, police certificates, medical exams, and proof of income.

          • Pay the applicable government processing fees.

        3. Application Processing:

          • IRCC reviews your application, may request additional documents, and conducts background checks.

          • For PGP, a lottery system is used to issue invitations to apply, with a cap of up to 25,000 applications in 2025.

        4. Decision and Landing:

          • If approved, your family member receives confirmation of permanent residence and can move to Canada.

          • You are financially responsible for the sponsored person for a set period (3 years for spouses/partners, up to 20 years for parents/grandparents)
